Advanced Directives

Advanced Directives are an essential component of future planning. These are documents that appoint a trusted individual to act on your behalf in the event of your incapacity or your inability to act for yourself. As you are living when these directives are necessary, it is essential that you appoint trusted individuals to act for you when you are unable. A good Durable Power of Attorney is the most important document any person can have. If you have not completed the planning necessary to put a Durable Power of Attorney in place, a Guardianship is the only alternative. This is a very expensive process where the Court is invited into the intimate aspects of your life.
